Can't link my Xbox profile

Hello! I recently updated myself to an Xbox series X and was trying to play dragon Age Inquisition. Since I wanted to pull stats from my previous playthroughs from when I was playing on PlayStation I tried to link myself.

Problem is, I changed my gamertag. It used to be crimsonsheen, now it's something different.

But, EA is showing that my email was previously linked to crimsonsheen, despite it still technically being the same profile. And it won't connect to it because of the one profile in a lifetime thing.

I'm happy to just abandon everything EA and skip the next DA when it comes out, but I'd rather not. But I won't be doing it if I can't keep my history properly.

Is there any way this can be resolved to let my *still the same profile, but with a name change* profile link up?

  • Turns out opening a ticket was sufficient to solve the issue.

To be clear here, all I did was change the gamertag nothing else.

It just didn't like that the name was different when I went to go connect it.

Either way, it has been resolved.

@Crimsonsheen There isn't a way around that sadly. If we make an exception for one, we have to for all. Simply doing a Gamertag name change would not cause issues, but changing the account itself would. That, sadly, support has no ability to change for players. You can try again after the 6 month waiting period, but until then, if you are on a different Xbox account, then you would need to link it to a new EA account.

    Cheers!
