Can't play with friends online "Missing Content error"

I firstly should mention I have the Digital Deluxe Edition (so does one of my friends) and my other friend has just the base game (Standard Edition). I have all the DLCs. They can join eachother, but when I try to join them or them join me it says there is missing content. Which I find odd because we are just doing the base multiplayer content that is already provided in the purchase of the game originally with eachother until they can get the multiplayer DLCs or does purchasing the multiplayer DLCs lock you out of playing with friends without it? I contacted Customer Support about this last night and they were unsure on how to fix it.

@TheSilver4920 As stated you need the DLC for your system to be able to see the weapons someone else has. However all the multiplayer DLC (Destruction, Dragonslayer) is free, so you can just download them all from the store.

Everyone on the team does need to have the same MP DLC. If you have DragonSlayer, for example, and they do not, you have access to things they do not and, you all need to have the same things to play together.
