Change language and multiple languages

Hi I have a retail version of DAO and I do not have origin on my computer at all. I want to have the game text in Japanese, as I don't think that a dub was ever done in that language. Anyway I have been told that the only way to change the language is to do a complete re-install, I don't want to have to do that and since my game disc is pal I doubt Japanese would even be included so I don't want to uninstall in case its for nothing. In the configuration there is a window for changing the language but it's grayed out and won't let me select anything else but english for both VO and text, so I was wondering if there is also a way to have multiple languages installed. Thanks.

  • You don't say exactly which version of the retail disc you have, (or the platform, but presume you mean for the PC). Unless you are willing to do an enormous amount of digging into compressed files, then a full un-/re-install is the only way to change languages.

And you are limited to the specific ones included on your disc. For example, my North American one had English, French, Spanish. The EU version had several more. The Eastern European/Russian version had Russian, (duh) Polish, and Czech.

    So, "it depends"...

I'm assuming it's EU since its a UK one with my countries classification sticker covering up the UK one. I don't think the language I'm after would be available off the disk anyway, so there is no sort of language pack that is downloadable? If I install origin (which I dont want to do for one game), would I have the option of changing the language whenever I wanted?
