CPU Usage 99%

Ok

So i have been having these wierd "game freezes" everything just stops! so i went and google it first and tryed all the "fixes" people recommended but nothing helped.

Even tryed install game again, even windows...

So bioware please tell me this? how can this game take 99% of my cpu? it jumps from 15 to 55 and maybe to 20 then long time on 99%. Whats going on? this is horrible.

No wonder my game crashes for sure!

Here are my computer specs too, i have a "good" computer but not good enough for the game it seems:

-Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07Ghz 3.06 GHz

-Installed memory (RAM): 12.0 GB

-System Type: 64-bit Operation System, x64-based processor

-Graphic Card: Nvidia 780 Gtx (3 GIG).

-Windows 8.1 64-bit verson.

I run game on "automatic" on graphic settings, it puts most on ultra but not everything. Still i don't have "lag" ingame when i'm able to play. I say that since i get crash/freezes 24/7 i'm so fed-up right now that i just simply stopped playing the game, witch is sad since i love the game.

Also note i been playing LOTS of games, but this is the ONLY game with these wierd freezes and crashes happening.

Here is link to my DirectX Dignostic Tool info if this can help you figure out my problems:

I'm super frustrated... Even bough two SSD disk just for this game to make it run more smooth, two 250 gig disk's.

factory OC's are usually stable, probably a few corner cases where downclocking it helped them because of defective card... general rule of thumb is if your system can run Heaven and/or Valley benchmark/demo for a few hours without issues then it should be stable enough to handle any game. I OC my cards and I've had no crashes or issues, just the usual SLi flickering and fog bugs. that said, it's still worth looking into if it may be a defective piece of hardware.

  • No No, I have battlefield 4 and have no issues in performance with my card has it is (R9 280x Matrix Platinum). I believe there's is simply something wrong with the optimization has an all for PC. Battlefield is very well optimized for the pc, here you can even enable some console comands because it causes issues... wtf Bioware, frostbite can do mutch better.

Also can't uderstand why is it that on the menu screen my cpu usage flatlines on the 100%... its at 80% ingame. What the hell are they doing on the menu screen?

Ok my friend helped me clock down my graphic card, and i been playing for around  5 hours with no break, and i had ZERO crash. Cpu still go high at times but not gone to 99% yet.

So maybe u want to consider try this "fix" as well, if i keep getting crashes at some point i will update this thread about it.

I did however notice on huge areas and on places where lots stuff/effect was going on that sometimes the game "slows down" like you are going in a "matrix" mode in a way for some seconds, i'm guessing its since for graphic card + prossessor gets to much to handle so it slows it down or something..

But i can live with that, don't happen often so 🙂

I just hope this Fix will last, is nice to play the game without worrie about if i saved a billion times incase i will crash again soon. That  said i still save a lot just in case 😛

So anyways to JumpIfUHappy telling me about the OC problem with frost engine thanks a lot, it seems to be right what u said. At least for now 🙂
