For paricular creature reserach materials I get no credit when I turn them in.
For example the horror claws and revenant helmets I see no progress on the bars on the creature codex cards after turning the aforementioned materials in. After a quick look I couldn't find a bug report section or anything so figured this would be the best place to post this issue.

Same problem here. Three Horror claws turned in, and the progress bar on the Horror codex entry remains empty.
Not to resurrect an old thread, but I've noticed this issue as well. In addition to Red Templar Horrors and Revenants not giving credit, some creatures don't seem to drop any research items at all. So far I've never been able to get a single research item from Spellbinders, Guardsman, or Giants. The first two I've tried farming an hour each with no success. Has anyone gotten research items from these creatures?
I find this issue to be rather annoying but I doubt it's a high priorty for Bioware in the face of all the other issues with this game.

I got both Mage and Guardsman codices filled, meaning that all research turned in but nothing with giants however to be fair I've only killed about 3-4 giants in the whole game so it is expected.

Those were the ones also SPOILER - venatori spellbinders/guardsman(the guys with huge shields) but tbh I didn't really farm them, I got those codices filled as I progressed so don't really know if all of them drop the materials.
