DA2 PC - Load game greyed out in menu.

Hi,

I finally got around to playing this for the first time the other day.

Had no problems, played for about 5 hours. Saving my game multiple times.

Turned on my PC this morning to continue, and the "Load" button in the main menu is greyed out and not clickable.

I checked My Documents, and my save files and character profile is all there.

I have re-installed, and repaired, restarted my PC, to no avail.

I saw another post on here with the same problem, but there was no solution posted.

Please help? Suggestions?

    Late reply years later (sorry):

    Disabling Origin Cloud did the trick. Just use local saves.

    Also Origin would turn on cloud saves automatically after it updates, so be wary of that cause it WILL wipe your progress when you launch the game after an Origin update.

    Update:

    Re-installed, deleted the whole My Documents folder (backed it up of course).

    Started a NEW game, new character. Finished the prologue, got to where I could save.

    Made 2 save games, could load in and out of them while I was playing.

    Shut down the game, and then restarted it; the new character and related save games wont show up, same as before.

    Button is still greyed out. Save game files and character profile intact in My Documents.

    Update 2:

    So I noticed that after I have save quit the game, my characters XML file (In this case Victor.xml) is totally empty.

    As in, there is nothing written in it.

    I am going to turn off Origin cloud save syncing and see if this is the culprit.

    Will post further updates.
