I had this same issue. DA:I ground to a halt, and did the same thing immediately after reboot, but for me it was only an issue in the multiplayer. Single player worked fine.

I was able to fix it by adjusting graphics settings to the "medium" preset. I was able to set it back to the settings I had previously, and the memory leak went away. This has happened to me twice, and both times adjusting graphics quality resolved the issue.

Interestingly, our system specs are very similar.

R9 290

16GB RAM

Catalyst version: 14.9
