Hello, I've had dragon age inquisition (game of the year addition) for three days and it has worked fine. However when I tried to load a save today, I get a infinite frozen black screen after the card loading screen. I am amble to move the mouse around but not much more. I have reset my computer multiple times and have repaired my game, nothing has changed. I'm not sure what to do
@God_Of_Cake135 Has anything changed in your computer since the last time you successfully played? Any new drivers or Windows updates?
A dxdiag might help us, could you post one as instructed in the spoiler tag of this sticky?
Have you tried loading a different save, to check whether it's an issue with the whole game or just that save in particular?
Are you using any mods? Usually they don't cause such issues, but it's an easy thing to rule out.
Is the save in a DLC area or a part of the main game?
Anything else that could be relevant?
Thanks for the reply! No, I haven't changed anything on my computer or downloaded any programs. I have quad core CPU so that shouldn't be a problem but i'm not sure how exactly to tell the the specifics of my computer. I don't got any mods. I figured out a way to play the game if I create a new character, then load my saved game. However I can't load any saved game without doing this. Thank you for the help 🙂
@God_Of_Cake135 The sticky I linked to in my first post contains instructions on how to create a dxdiag and post it so we can see (it's in the spoiler section). Your CPU isn't the only component that matters. Dxdiags also sometimes contain error information which can be helpful.
If you're having issues loading, have you made sure your save folder ([user] > My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age Inquisition > Save, may differ slightly depending on what version of Windows you have) has the correct permissions? Some people have had issues with this in the past, so it's worth checking. You should be able to load a previous save without starting a new game 😉
