EA_Shepard It is working! I checked with my internet provider and had them relax the adult content block settings. Apparently that was what was keeping the game connecting. Thanks for all your help.
EA_Shepard It shows no transactions before 9-15-2025. It is possible I purchased this game on a disc. But I really think I got it online. I first began downloading games instead of buying discs back in 2015-2016. I definitely did not get it from Steam. Origin and Ubisoft were the only other game managers I've ever purchased anything through. I've checked my Amazon order history and didn't get a disc there.
Why would it let me download the game now if I don't own it? It's listed as in my library in EA Play. I even purchased the EA Play membership on Monday Since DA: I is included in that membership I though maybe it would let me play it but it still has the same error.
If I purchased it through Origin, is it possible it didn't migrate it properly to EA Play?
It makes me wonder about the accuracy of the transaction history. Why does it only show my purchase from 2 days ago. I'm confident I had an Origin membership years ago as well. Shouldn't that also show up? I also just found emails during 2011-2012 from EA of purchase confirmations for DLC content for Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2 but they don't show up in the transaction history on EASports. com. I'm using the same email today that I was then. What might that mean?
Should I buy it from Steam and see what happens? I'm afraid it'll have the same result.
Community ManagerInjuredWizard All games from way back then would have turned into digital copies, so even if it was a disc, I wou ld see the base game itself being loaded and logged into but I do not. Being that the other entitlements are from 2017 and not recently, The only other conclusion would be a different account. But still with EA Play you should be able to.
With this new laptop, it will be a matter of testing step after step. Something is either blocking it, or Windows isnt giving permissions
1. Uninstall the game - Delete all files associated with the game
2. Turn off any antivirus program you have
3. Go into the start menu of Windows, type UAC - and turn that off (turn it back on if it does not work)
3. Clear EA App cache
4. Manually go into the EA app store and find the game - add to library and install that way
The steps you have tried above will have to repeat some like deleting the license folder, but it is the only way to rule out if it is a PC issue or EA app issue. Either way your account isnt connecting to the game long enough for it to even register anything past 8 years ago.
EA_Shepard So, I just noticed that I wasn't viewing my transaction history far back enough! Sorry for the confusion on my end.
Here is a screen shot. I did purchase the game in March 2017. I have tried all those steps you reference above at least twice.
I don't know if this will be helpful or not. The build I was using of this desktop pc back in 2017 might have been running 32 bit. I mention this because when I get the error I'm getting my task manager says the program that pops up in error is named "activation UI (32 bit)."
Community ManagerInjuredWizard Thank you. When you download the game, it should not even ask you 32/64 bit. The only thing it really does is check for the required additions you need with every game you download.
Do me a favor. I looked at the account again, run a repair, or just reinstall it again. I know it is a pain but hopefully what i changed should help get past that error.
EA_Shepard I repaired the game, cleared the EA Play cache, I repaired my registry, launched the game, and got the same error.
I then uninstalled it, rebooted, and re-installed it. Still get the same error.

EA_Shepard After repairing and reinstalling didn't work, I found an old EA account that was tied to my xbox years ago. I purchased the game on that account and downloaded it. I still get the same error.

Community ManagerInjuredWizard Oh, wow, nice! I am glad that they were able to make those changes for you. ISP issues are typically not really an issue unless you use a certain VPN, router, or something restrictive, but that's great news.
