@EmthePixelPixie @Owlz999 You might need to contact EA, apparently there's in issue with some product codes (even for games that worked fine on Origin), which can only be fixed by contacting support. You can contact support here (apologies if that sends you to the Australian version, you can change your country in the upper right corner). If you go through the selections you should get an option to contact support (by phone or possibly chat, be mindful of their operating hours), ignore any links back to AHQ. If/when you get in contact with an advisor, ask if they can check your product code(s) for the game(s) you're having this issue with to see if there's an issue. I've also been told you can contact them through twitter or facebook.
This isn't the only possible cause of the issue but was suggested to me as a possible cause when none of the usual troubleshooting works. If you get in touch with support, please let us know how it goes. Frustrating that there are so many new issues that we can't help with/don't have solutions to yet, so any (legal) solutions are welcome.
I managed to make a ticket after only being offered a phone line for so long so hopefully someone emails me with a solution.
I am in Australia as well as surely this is covered under consumer law here. You can't sell a digital product and then not be able to use it due to and error that states it's on their end?
Surely they can unlock the .exe file so it doesn't have to go through ea or origin apps to open !?

@EmthePixelPixie I think Owl was referring to a new windows user profile, creating a new EA profile would not be a solution (as you would then need to purchase the game for that profile).
You didn't get the chat option at all? Has been a while since I've needed to contact support (other than for swtor which I think is a separate thing), chat was always an option back then (as long as it was a time and day they'd be there).
It is doubtful they will unlock the exe file (effectively removing their own DRM), hopefully they will fix the EA app so all games work on it.
Let us know how you go with support, and don't let them try to send you back here (but also remember it's not the support persons fault that there are issues with the app).

any solution for this? been almost 3 weeks and no reply from EA support at all. ive uninstalled/reinstalled, restarted pc, redownloaded/delete all games clear cashe, run as admin and always checked task manager and the same pops all the time with every game not just inquision. why couldnt we just keep damn origins never had a single problem till this * got forced on us and every week i come with some new bs to deal with.

I actually had the same problem and tried all the possible solutions, apart from making a new user, because I'm not cluttering my system with a random user just to play one game. What finally did work for me was launching the game through Frosty Mod Manager. I'm guessing the launcher bypasses something that blocks the EA app, but I haven't looked into what it might be. I'm just happy I can play the game again.
