DAI won't start after mod installation and software update

http://hastebin.com/turozucexe.tex :This is the list containing my specs, according to a post on your site. Since I followed these instructions ; http://daitools.freeforums.org/using-mods-with-patch-5-t591.html, I haven't been able to start DAI, the loading screen won't even show. If I try esc + ctrl + alt, I can get to my desktop, but the background is black/white scraggly, no icons, no background. I noticed, that I had to update my software, so I did, but it didn't change anything. So basically after the attempt to install this mod everything stopped working. I thought that it was due to the updates but even after, it still didn't work.  I already tried pretty much everything on different posts, but nothing worked, so far. So my guess is, it's the mod.  I'm just not sure how to undo the mess it has caused.

  • I know that the mod tools have not been working properly with patch 6, and they were just recently updated to work. However, it also means most mods have not been able to run properly with patch 6 until the tools were updated. So it is possible the mods you installed don't work with patch 6.

There is an entry here on the nexus regarding patch 5 and 6 and using mods:

    http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/493/?

Unfortunately, you are going to have to go to the nexus to get support with making sure DAI is running properly with mods. Not many people who frequent this site use mods, especially any who play on console. You may get lucky here, but you will probably have a better chance on the nexus posting on the dai tools download thread or the specific mod threads you have installed.

But to get back to a clean slate, my suggestion would be to basically uninstall dai tools from your system, uninstall DAI, delete everything in the install folder and start with a clean install, and see if DAI runs fine. However, I haven't tried any DAI mods yet (waiting until DAI is on its final release and the tools/mods are in finished form) so you should probably check the nexus first about uninstalling mods and tools.

  • Thank you for the suggestion. I was finally able to retrace my mod path with the nexus manager and I just deleted everything. The game finally works again, but if I want to use mods in the future, I will  use your link for the patch. For now I'm just happy that my laptop works again.
