How common are these crashes? Dragon Age can get quite unstable due to a memory leak, so I tend to just quick save and restart the game every once in a while. I think forcing DX9 won't have an effect because that's the game's only supported API.What was this DLL issue you had and how did you fix it? Did you try a game repair in Origin? I don't know if EA Desktop already supports this feature.

DA:O Randomly Closes/Crashes with no Error

This started after I installed DA:A but also when reached Lottering or whatever that first town is called

Things I have tried:

Compat mode with Win 7 and 8
Forcing the game to run on one core of my CPU using set affinity
Reducing Graphics quality
Forcing the game to use dx9 using -dx9
Compat mode while forcing the game to use one core and using dx9
Uninstalling and Reinstalling
Disabling DA:A (I cannot figure out how to uninstall it)

I a replaying the game while waiting for new games that interest me. DAO is crashing alot. I turned off all the addons and repaired the game through the EA App. This was an original purchase from when the game came out--not a recent one. I tried the compatibility thing back to win7 but still crashing. It will start usually then crashes when going into the bar in Denerum.Market most recently. I also save alot to keep my progress updated. I would love some help to get it stable enough to finish again then go on to DA2.
