DAO Toolset -- Game install not found

So I wanted to take a look at the Origins toolset. However, it does not seem to find my game's installation. I see two potential reasons for this: 1. I have the game on GOG, not Steam or EA app. 2....

The error message says "Dragon Age: Origins game install not found". Unfortunately the Toolset Wiki link does not seem to be helping with this issue, as it is offering steps for troubleshooting a similar issue with the Toolset already installed. However I can't install the Toolset because it can't locate the game installation.

    OK, got it.

Do you have a "HKLM/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/BioWare/Dragon Age" path in the Registry?
If yes you simply need to change the "Path_" Value to "Path"

If not you probably have "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1949616134" as the DA registry node

To make the toolset find the game in this case you need to edit the Registry by hand:

    • If you don't have a "HKLM/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/BioWare" key > right klick "Wow6432Node" > choose "New" > Key > name the key "BioWare" (without the quotes)
    • If you have a "HKLM/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/BioWare" key > right klick BioWare > choose "New" > Key (name the key "Dragon Age" (without the quotes)
    • Right click on the new created "Dragon Age" key >  choose "New" > String Value > name it "Path" (without the quotes, should appear in the right Window!)
    • Double click the "Path" value and enter the exact path to your DA installation into the new Window > OK > Restart the PC.

Now the toolset should find your game.

Edit: For the toolset, SQL Server 2005 will not work under Windows 10 & 11, you will have to upgrade it to a newer version.
