DAO Ultimate Edition Issue
On Xbox 360, I loved how my purchased Base Game version of DAO could be augmented by having purchased the Ultimate Edition and Install the DLC from Disc 2 Directly into the 360 Hard Drive so I can play the entire DAO saga digitally. When DAO was announced for Xbox One AND would allow for the Ultimate Edition to be open to BC, I was excited, because I thought I could have the same experience on my One. Note I said "thought" because apparently when I've tried to install the DLC from Disc 2 not only does it not reflect installations on the 360's "shell" operating system it also presents Disc 2 as if it were Disc one, rather than how Disc 2 was presented on 360 where it was a simple installation program. Whenever I've tried the solutions listed in other posts to install the DLC, the solution appears to require that I have Disc 2 of Ultimate Edition in my One at all times when playing for the DLC to display and be accessed. For someone like me who doesn't focus on one game from start to finish, but rather goes from one game to another and back, I feel that it would be an unfair compromise to either just play my desired way on 360 or leaving Disc 2 In to play if I want to play on One. Disc 2 was intended as a DLC Installation Disc. End of Story. While I can understand the need for EA and Microsoft to have the BC DRM, I feel that either requiring what was only an installation Disc remain in the drive when it should not need to or re-buying DLC I already own are not viable solutions to this issue. Therefore, if anyone knows of a way where all the DLC from Disc 2 be installed and then I can play without Disc 2 being in the drive, please provide a clear, detailed, step-by-step resolution. If this solution is not currently feasible, then I am strongly requesting to the point of rattling a sabre that Microsoft and/or EA patch DAO's BC version so that Disc 2 can be processed and presented EXACTLY the way it was on 360 and just install the DLC Contents to the Hard Drive without need for Disc 2 to be in the drive, please
Disc 2 is just an installation Disc. Don't DRM a game to make a Disc be required to play something when it originally did not have that function in a previous console iteration in the Microsoft Family if you're making it available for the newest member... Thank you.
