DA:O Ultimate edition won't save

So I bought DA:O Ultimate Edition using EA App. It installed and runs just fine except it won't save, which is a major issue. I click on save game and it looks like it is saving but there are no saved games when I try to load them and the save folder is empty. I'm on Windows 11. How to fix this? I just wasted 2 hours of my live.

Thank you for all the help but I believe I solved my problem.

The solution was to put EA app into offline mode. The game is now able to save and load without problems.

Downside is I have to either disconnect my PC from internet or put EA app in offline mode every time I want to play which is mildly inconvenient but I guess will have to do.

I just reached Ostagar. Curious what happens next.

The standard save location of DAO is "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\Characters\>Character name<\Saves\"
    Does this folder exist?

Search your system for files with "*.das" file extension and tell us the location of this files.

Did you tried to run EA app and the game as Administrator?

Is "controlled folder access" of the Windows Defender activated?

    Do you use OneDrive?

  • Hello! @holger1405

Thank you for taking your time to help me.

    1. There is C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age

There are no other folders inside Dragon Age folder.

There are no .das files on my computer.

    2. I tried to run the game as Administrator but it didn't help.

    3.  Controlled folder access is turned off.

    4. One drive is uninstalled from my system.

    Try an App Recovery.

In EA app > Click on the 3 lines in the top left > Help > App recovery > Test.

    If that didn't helped:

Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time > Click on "Command prompt (Administrator)", "PowerShell (Administrator)" or Terminal (Administrator).
    (OS specific differences.)

    • In the CMD, PowerShell or Terminal window, at the prompt type or copy and past:  takeown /f "xxxxxxxxxxxx" (With the quotes)
      (Replace
the X with the full path to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents" folder, the quotation marks need to stay in.)

    • hit ENTER
You should get a success message.

    • Restart the PC > Test
