Developer Console PC

How do enable the developer console using Origin?

  • Console (Origins)

    The wiki page lists the shortcut as:

    "C:\Program Files\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

    But Origin changes the path:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

    *Note: The file name may be different depending on which version of DAO you have (for example: Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition).

    I recommend going into the "bin_ship" file itself and doing the following:

    1) Find "daorigins.exe".
    2) Right click to bring down a menu.
    3) Click "Properties".
    4) Highlight the "Location:" information and copy it (CTRL+c).
    5) Open "Notepad" (Start-->All Programs-->Accessories), "paste" (CTRL+v) the information.
    6) Edit the path.
    -->Add "\daorigins.exe".
    -->Add the "" marks.
    -->Add "-enabledeveloperconsole" as shown.
    7) Create a new shortcut using the new path.

    Important note from the wiki...

    "Also note that you will not be able to see the console without the use of a mod, but you can tell that it is open because keys you normally can use as shortcuts to commands will no longer work (C for Character Record, etc.)."
