Same problem. Nvidia card.
Turned off AO, played in Windowed Fullscreen. Game ran smoother, for a time. The only real difference is that instead of an error message I now have a white screen. Hopefully some sort of fix soon, as much as I am enjoying this game, continually having to re-do cutscenes/war table stuff is starting to grate.
Just spoke to EA on this they are working on a patch to fix the issue with the nivida cards. Hopefully they can fix this soon. They did send me a link for a c-cleaner so hopelfully that helps too. The advice you guys gave did help so good job there but even after all that i still crashed after almost and hour and thirty min of game play. Kinda bummed. As soon as they send me a link for this cleaner i will let you all know if it works. They did suggest run in window full screen and turn the resolution down one step for now.
