Ok - I can now confirm that underclocking the GPU core / memory does not fix this either.
I'm now convinced the only thing that is going to fix this is either a driver update or more likely an update to DA:I.
Here's what I've learned:
- Crash only happens during cutscenes / map screen, it has never crashed for me during the main game.
- Turning off Origin in-game / not connecting to DA servers makes no difference.
- Changing graphics settings does not fix this.
- Different graphics drivers do not fix this.
- Reinstalling DirectX doesn't fix it.
- Reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package does not fix it.
- Underclocking the GPU does not fix this.
- Switching to windowed mode alters the type of crash to a white screen instead of a hang to directx error.
- My GPU is not overheating during the crash (temperature is very regular.)
For reference, every time the crash happens GPU usage hits 100% and then drops to nothing.

It's a real shame about this, as I'm really enjoying the game but knowing it could crash during any cutscene puts me on edge the whole time instead of enjoying the story.
