DirectX Error. This Needs fixed now.

Ok, I've had this since the game was launched.  After the first time I ran this **bleep** program I started getting this error.  And it still has not been fixed.

DirectX function "device->CreateTexture1D(&texDesc1d,desc.subResourceCount!= 0 ? reinterpret_cast<const D3D11_SUBRESOURCE_DATA*>(desc.subResourceData) :0, &texture->m_texture1d)" failed with E_INVALIDARG ("An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function.") GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT", Driver: 34052

I keep waiting for a patch to come out for this, the last one did NOTHING.  I've sent in several bug reports and I haven't even gotten anything beyond a automated Email back.

Fix this or tell me how to get my money back.

The error refers to Directc3D 11, which the Geforce 9600GT doesn't support. You have to reinstall the latest version of DirectX 10, which is the last DirectX version supported by the Geforce 9 series. By downloading this file, you get the latest updates of previous DirectX versions: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

If the installation says you already have a newer version, then completely uninstall that and try again.

Also note that your graphics card doesn't meet the minimum system requirements, so instability can be expected. The minimum requirement is a Geforce 8800GT, which is faster than the 9600GT.

I was under the impression the 9600gt was a better card then the 8800gt, let me see what happens when I reinstall DirectX.

And I guess my angst really isnt directed at your website, but at the people supporting the game.  I got the game on launch day and had this problem immediately, and up to now they havent even sent me anything more then a recognition that I've got a error.   They couldnt even tell me what you just said about my video card.  So it's obvious that I've fallen through the cracks somewhere.

Well, it's not "our" website either. It's an official EA site meant for the community, but their official support is at http://help.ea.com , which I guess is the site you've already visited.

EA's support is usually good, but many people, including BioWare's staff, are on holiday right now, which is why support is a bit slow these days.

While the Geforce 9600 GT is slower than the 8800GT, is pretty much the same card, except with a slower clock. It should at least launch the game and make it somewhat playable on the lowest settings, though. I thinkt he error may be unrelated to the 9600 GT's quality.

My wife had this issue. She has at 750TI. Setting the graphics to medium fixed it which sucks but its playable. I am running a 970 and do not have this problem. You can try lowering your graphics settings as a temp fix. I think I read its a known issue with some nvidia cards and they are working on a fix. Considering how long it is taking them to fix the MP key drop issue though I wouldn't hold out for a quick fix.

I'm running a good AMD card, could run BF4 in ultra. Same problem. it crashes somewhere in between 5 min and 2 hours of game time. Even on lowest settings as you suggest. But did I pay 60 euro's to play a very good game on lowest settings, not getting the full adventure, restarting on an average of once per hour and no support, no intrest from EA whatsoever? Today I had the afternoon off, six restarts, and a lot of re-re-re-do's. I can tell you, it's not motivating.

The OP had an older, slower video card.  A 9600 GT was related to the 8800 GS, a medium performance down-rated 8800 card, much slower than the rest of the 8800s.  BF4 is a year older, and uses a less demanding (on CPUs, particularly) version of Frostbite.  You need your own separate personal message thread, since the OP's problem won't really be solved without a physical swap to a better GPU.   At present, we have no data on your CPU, GPU, drivers, OS, etc.
