Exact same problem here.
I got pass the first cutscene by putting all settings on Low (lowest).
I only played a few minutes of the first map. It ruins a game for me if I have to adjust settings or experience crashes all the time.
Just happened to me too in the first 5 mins of playing..
I am using a AMD Radeon 6700 and have got the beta driver. I have tried installing the C++ libraries and other hoppla they are suggesting. NOTHING IS WORKING. Sometimes I can go for an hr playing fine. Other times it's 5 minutes.
It usually happens on cut scenes but just before it happened right after I finished a fight. As a result I usually have to redo fights multiple times before I can save. PLEASE FIX THIS EA/BIOWARE the game is virtually UNPLAYABLE which is unacceptable for a PRE ORDER.
