Same Issue here:
Tried to install the english version from DVD last days as I own DA Origins as well as Awakening UK retail versions.
Installation went smooth through installing patch 1.05.
Starting Origin after the install ended up with repair install and corrupted installation (awc.dll error).
Problem why I want the Origin install is that I'm getting sick by inserting the disk every time I wanna play.
I opened a support case with EA Germany if they could switch the language to english as I'm sure I never chose German language while redeeming the code.
Thought about buying a steam copy of the game during the christmas sale, as it was as cheap as 5 € for the base game, if I remember it right, but lacked Awakening.
I will put it on my steam wishlist for the next sale.
