Not a solution if broken, but helpful if you already gather the materials before going to Frederic.
First time you talk to Frederic, listen to his welcoming and then choose to exit the conversation. (I must go)
Second talk to him again and turn in materials, then exit conversation.
Talk to him again, investigate and gain quest Assault on Griffon Wing Keep.
I had a different bug. If you give him the translated book (completing a Manuscript of Some Authority) before he mentions the gurn and gives you the Hunting Patterns quest you will be stuck and unable to complete Hunting Patterns or Sharper White Claws. I've screwed that up on two play throughs, just caught it by reverting and not telling him about the manuscript.
I encountered this as well but I was able to re-load to before I talked to him to fix it.
I believe it happened because I mistakenly clicked to attack before listening to his entire welcoming speach, interrupting his conversation. I also already had the manuscript/research items/bait before talking to him for the first time, but not sure if that mattered.
Draconology find frederic first time i went to him and spoke i had some materials fore him but not all. then i collected everything and went to him again. then i destroied the traps and some people attaced me. i cant get the dragon slaying quest and i cant complete FIND FREDERIC and i cant recruit him!!
I think I'm encountering something else. I just found the 1st research stuff and it said find frederic. So I found him and pressed X to talk to him, but he just talks, I get no options to say anything back to him, and the quest isn't updating either. He also says nothing about the quest, just talks about a dragon.
I have the same problem; in fact, I have a quest marker for a quest I never completed (capturing the Griffon Wing Keep) as well as a quest marker for Draconology (which is present on the map, but not on the mini-map).
I assume the problem is that I captured Griffon Wing Keep before completing Frederick's quest...
- I seem to be experiencing a bug as well. I've found all of the other items and returned them without incident, but now I'm stuck on A Manuscript of Some Authority. I know exactly where the manuscript is, and I think the problem is that I cleared out the area and collected the loot a while before I started any of the Draconology missions. Now that it's come time to cough it up, I have no clue where it is, and thus can't move past this mission. Is there any way to fix this, or am I just SOL?
