Dragon Age Crashing, Hard Shutdown

I know this has been posted before but I am having similar problems to most people out there.

I was able to play DAI for aout 25 hours, until about 2-3 days ago. Everytime I played the game either froze and completely locked up my computer or it would hard crash my PC (completely shut it off). I loaded AMD CCC and my MB check and my GPU temp when running is around 61 C, the CPU is at 59 C, and the MB is at 24 C. This can't be overheating shutdown because that is well within tolerable range for the unit.

I run the game off a SSD and my boot drive is also a SSD. I have run a chkdsk /f to fix any index issues but neither HD is going bad.

I ran a sfc /scannow and the only error I get is with a file called pretty_peacock.jpg.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I updated AMD CCC to the 14.11.2 Beta as was noted in another thread.

I have disable Origin in game.

I ran the game on admin.

I ran it in a different profile, both have admin rights. I created a new character in this profile and it still crashed between 5-10 mins. This isn't a bad or corrupt save/character.

As of now I think that some update, either Origin or DAI has borked the game and it really needs to get fixed. This is really starting to **bleep** me off becuase I was really looking forward to the game and now it is broken. The fact that I played for 25 hours with no issues points to a programing error, not a system error.

Without spamming this is what the first part of my dxdiag (run on 64 bit) looks like:

  • I got the exact same situation, played for nearly 30 hours straight without any issues, no crashes whatsoever and now it suddenly makes my PC crash, forcing a reboot. Doesn't matter on which settings, doesn't matter if I disable overlays, admin rights won't work, updated all drivers, checked temps, nothing is higher than 65C and so on.

Not so chuffed about this, was having a lot of fun and now it's literally unplayable.
