I, like others - bought DA:I on day 1 with faith in Bioware - but found for some inexplicable reason I couldn't WALK in game. Not wealthy, my only reasonable option was to get refund quickly from Origin within 24-hour window. In reality, this really hurts because of my love for Dragon Age Origins.
My hope was that I could repurchase in due time when problem fixed - but there has been no new news. Origin did offer me a 15% discount for games MORE THAN 30 DAYS old. So, I figure there's no reason to reorder for the next thirty days at least , assuming the walk issue has been magically resolved.
What are others doing about walk problem?

Well, yes but that was posted on Nov 18...When can we expect the fix?

Me too, no walking, only running...........please fix this ASAP.
Get a gamepad.... and I can't believe I'm saying that.... but seriously, the game plays better with one. The camera, everything, just plays nicer with the gamepad. It's obvious they designed it that way. I was going to return it too but then I used my gamepad and it just plays better.
I just can't play the game with a mouse/keyboard either without a WALK function. Well, I can, but it's not fun. Plus the camera gets in the way.
They SHOULD have put the original controls from DA Origins back in to this one; where you can click to walk, etc. But they didn't. So get a gamepad.

It seems silly, but okay, different people have different 'needs' I guess. Aesthetics are individual.
You should realize, however, that the animations for walking are quite different from the animations for jogging. That means you are asking to add a large chunk of expense and workthat will be seldom, if ever, used by most players. And at the moment there are apparently many more players unable to play at all.
There are other things that need attention first, am I right?
It's not much expense. It's already in the game, they just forgot to assign a key. Right now the only way to walk is by using a controller.

I just finished downloading the game less than an hour ago and not 10 minutes into the game I was wondering about two things:
The glossy shiny hair (fixed by setting mesh to high)
And the alway-running character! I fiddled with the key bindings and they are right there but they don't work.
At least I'm happy the developers are aware of this. Hope we get a fix soon.

Any news here? I am still waiting to walk on PC with KB+M...
- Anonymous11 years agoHow could this possibly have been left out? Walking is pretty fundamental! I just finished installing and going through the opening cut scenes. The very first thing I did was try to walk, only to be frustrated at not finding a control for it. Then I searched online and found out there is no walking. What a shame. It really breaks immersion in any game not to be able to move normally. I look like an idiot running everywhere.
Unbelievable... I should have waited for the game to get cracked and let people mod the goddamn WALKING into the game.
Seriously it works with controllers... there's even the sprint button with shift pre-binded that DOES NOTHING.
This is complete **bleep**... and NO i'm not going to play with a **bleep** controller.
I'm still at the very beginning of the game and just kept exiting and trying **bleep** to fix this.
Welp it's fine i'll just run around in every **bleep** town like the village's **bleep** because they can't be bothered to test their PC version.
Was hoping they would have added the walk function in the update. Anyone heard anything new on this issue?
