I'm back, just to echo that this definitely wasn't fixed by the patch. Was running SSAO and all ultra for a bit, but was just in an extended rift sequence and got the reset. From being in this thread so long, seems like 4 things seem to be true:
I have a factory overclocked EVGA 970 GTX, so I might see if I can manually underclock it to the non-overclocked specs and see if that helps. I'm not sure which is worse, having to gimp the power of my card to play, or play on reduced settings when I put a lot of money and effort into creating a powerful gaming machine specfically so I could play games like this on max settings. =(
I thought it was fixed but had a crash (cold beam desire demons). Geforce is looking for information

With the last update it appeared to be working then I fought two desire demons and it crashed again.
Rift battles with dsire deamons are stil the bane, otherwise it runs grear
YESSS Finally!! People with the same exact issues!!!
I've had to just pass by so many Rifts because the damn desire demons will crash my game...

Okay so the new drivers someone mentioned earlier seems to help with the despair demons crashing.
I've fought like 3 without any issues.
NOW I have issues with something else...
Exalted Plains > Lay Rest the Western Ramparts
The blue portal thing you have to destroy triggers constant computer reset for me.
