Dragon Age Inquisition crashes on startup (Windows 10)

I recently bought a new gaming PC to replace my old and dying one. That one could just about run the game, and on Windows 10. This new PC blows away the minimum specs as far as I can tell, yet whenever I start the game it immediately CTDs with no error message at all. I checked in my NVIDIA Geforce Experience program and the drivers are all up to date, the game is of the latest patch and I've already tried reinstalling it from scratch. Please help, I want to play DAI so badly!!!

i had this issue as well

    re-installed the game

    re-installed and updated graphics drivers

    cleaned unused apps

The fix came from Disabling AVG then launching the client

If you are running AVG, check that first 😉

  • Thanks for all the help.EA kept trying to troubleshoot why my Dragon Age Inquisition wouldn't run after I got my computer out of the shop. I tried everything but the kitchen sink until I read this thread. Temporarily disabling AVG did the trick for me. My game is up and running thanks to you guys.

  • I have same problem.. id did this and disabled avg and the game launched.

    Thank you..

  • Yes it is true as people have already confirmed disabling temporarily AVG and if necessary adding DAI as an exception in the AVG menu settings will solve the problem.  It is not necessary to uninstall the antivirus as some people mentioned.   I would also suggest that reshade is installed as well since it adds an unparalleled level of clarity, sharpness and color (i cant play a game without it).
