If it is refusing to launch because it thinks there's an update missing, the easiest way to see it to open Oigin, be sure you click "remember me" when you log in. When Origin comes up, click on the Origin tab to get the menu. Select Go Offline --- Do not click on Log Off, just Go Offline. Origin will go into Offline mode without you having to disconnect from the internet.
Once Origin is offline, if the game is only messed up because Origin wants to install a patch, then the tile should once again be colourful and you should have the Play option when you mouse over it.
:cathappy:
If it does not, then there is something wrong with the installation of the game itself, or your machine has some sort of configuration issue.
If you will post again to let me know the results, I'd appreciate it. I can then also give you some suggestions for how get Origin to fix itself so you can run the game.
Good luck!
Quick Edit -- PS -- with any of Origin's games that have a multiplayer element, if they are not updated with the current patch, Origin will NOT let you play while logged in. (Being offline in Origin disables all of the online features such as importing a custom world if you start a new game, and accessing multiplayer.
I suspect it's so that it's far, far less difficult to maintain access for everyone if you require them all to be on the same patch version.
