Next line of thinking: I am noticing two reoccuring errors--an HHCTRL access error, and an ntdll.dll error.
Both would seem to indicate Dragon Age is trying to access something on the computer that the computer is not allowing it to access, or that the game itself is not set up to access. Seeing as many people are reporting an upgrade to Windows 8.1 is fixing this, I wonder if there is a configuration error with Windows 7 that Bioware did not take into account in their development environment, perhaps even a DRM issue.
The more I dig into this problem, the more I am convinced this is a developer-side issue that will require a patch and we are all banging our heads against the wall for nothing.

I've seen the same errors actually...at least the HHCTRL one , not sure about the dll, but yeah i think you nailed it cause I got two win 7 systems, one it works on and one it doesn't.
