I'm on a pc (a laptop) with an intel i7 core, so I decided to try this and went in to '3D', but there was no 'Conservative Morphological Anti-Aliasing' -- only the general settings (which gives pre-set 3D settings) and 'Anisotropic Filtering', 'Vertical Sync', and 'Application Optimal Mode'. I've been troubleshooting for over an hour and this seems like my best bet, so I'd really like to fix the problem ASAP.
I launched Origin and am repairing the game... update later.
Still not working -- just getting the same ol' black screen as before.

Run ORIGIN in Admin mode. Worked for me👿

Hi all.
Had to post this in 2016 as this just hit me after 76 hours of playtime. Game played, closed fine at night opened in the morning.Refuses to open properly. Get a few seconds of the black screen, icon on bar, then closes with no error.
For me it was related to the Antivirus. Opening AVG > Options > Advanced > Exceptions, add the DA:I folder, then trying to run the game
worked.
A few side effects, possibly from the tests below, there's now a long delay before the Bioware logo pops up (before - 2 second now - 20 seconds)
and refuses to login to my origin account through DA:I. Loading times have also increased, even though I'm running from an SSD
Again, related to the Reinstall or the AVG, hard to say.
I've no idea why after 76 hours AVG suddenly kicked in, or if AVG was truly the culprit. Nothing had altered, and up to this point, was running fine.
For the saga, tried:
Origin Repair/ReinstallDA:I Repair/Install
Moving/Deleting Save Games
Removing Profile settings from Save folder
Disabling/Removing Mods
Uncheck/check Disable Origin In game
Deleting DA:I links in the %appdata% folder
Resetting graphics through Geforce Experience
Check your respective antiviruses, keep your fingers crossed.
Good luck to those coming across the thread in future!

@Amirie_UK The AVG problem is well known, as you can see by the multiple threads on the DAI board (perhaps going there first could have prevented you from resurrecting an old thread 😉 ), and has only kicked in recently (the past few days), likely due to an AVG update. Seems to be hitting people with NVidia cards, maybe there's some weird specific conflict between the three things.

Now that this post has been resurrected: the issues described in here don't seem directly related to Origin. I have therefore moved it over to the Dragon Age board.
AVG was the problem for me. Thanks for the fix!
