Dragon Age Inquisition fail

https://hastebin.com/yewicawuhi.tex

I only have 3 hrs of gameplay on Dragon Age: Inquisition, and I have yet to find a solution for this, it's only recent (few days) that I noticed I've been unable to play, I'll either get a black windowed screen or full screen that will pop up when I click on the game and after 2 seconds (literally) of it being opened it closes. I've tried both in origin, and on my desktop. I've uninstalled and completely reinstalled the game and before doing that I repaired the game, still won't work, I've also tried running as administrator and still nothing; it's pretty frustrating trying to get on a game that you payed for and can't do anything with. :/

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks.

  • Was looking through your DiaX file....

You video card is below min specs for game, so if the video options has been raised during play, it may cause the game to crash.  Your 5450 card versus the Min Spec card 4870.

Your video driver is a year old, and way out of date because of that.  Driver isn't WHQL signed, either.

If you want you can try deleting the Profileoptions, and Profileoptions_options folder and reset all your customizations back to stock...which may reset your Video settings enough to get it to start if nothing else works.  Don't move anything off the lowest setting cause that is inviting trouble IF you do ever get it to work.

  • Most common cause of this issue is Anti-virus.  Some can just put in exceptions for both Origin and All DAI folders and are fine, others have to disable, and one said he had to uninstall Avast from his machine to get it to work.

Second most common issue is drivers out of date.

Third most common is Machine below min specs trying to run the game.

Corrupted saves and other various things all can cause this as well. .  (I would bet first though if we were betting a penny.)

    Edit: found your DiaX file...thanks..

The driver isn't signed what does that mean and how can I go about fixing it? DAI is the only game not working for me on this computer and I play on World of Warcraft and Sims 4 and Previous dragon age games without issue.

Edit: So I tried updating the driver, and deleting those profile options files and it's still not working; I don't get it, it did work when I first tried playing it (which is the first 3 hrs) and now it refuses to work.

AMD has chosen to leave the cards older than the HD 7nnn generation, and slower than the HD 7730 behind.  Updated drivers are not offered.  Bioware chose to ignore the old and slow cards offering worse performance than an HD 4870.  Since there was NEVER support for any HD 5450,  for us here in this forum to support those low end tinker toys / Lego Toys would be totally illogical, sorry!

Like Gorath basically said, your card is old, outdated and unsupported anymore.  You can try to put exceptions into your antivirus and hope that makes it work.  I am surprised DAI ever ran decently on this machine with that video card.  As far as other games goes, sorry, you can't compare WoW to DAI, different design different graphics and way different load on machines.  Even Sims4 isn't the same, as DAI has always had fairly high requirements for games compared to others released same year, and WAY WAY above Wow which was released in 2004 or so.

If the AV exceptions work and you can play, good for you congrats you got lucky, but honestly, I really don't want to spend a bunch of time trying to make lump of coal into a diamond...which is basically what you are asking when you try to make a low end Geo Prizm car(your video card) run like a Ford V8 Mustang(recommended card) .

I managed to get it to work; I had to completely disable AVG, even though I had it under exceptions it wouldn't work for some reason.. But I can play it now so thank you for all the help.
