Dragon Age Inquisition fire mine and immolation game crash...

I have been using immolation and fire mine for 100 plus hours with zero problems. Then out of no where once I started the Jaws of Hakkon dlc the game would throw me back to the main menu saying 'lost connection to session' whenever an enemy triggered the mine or I used immolation. Now that I've completed JoH it just straight crashes the entire game. I'm on xbox one, have all the dlc, and am fully updated. I just wonder if there is a way to fix this or do I have to accept that two of my best spells are now off limits? Also, I'm level 27, I'm not sure what the max is, but leveling doesn't make this crash go away like someone said.

  • I have heard this is a known issue, and that there are no fixes.  I personally never used those spells much, as most of my mages wind up Spirit, I think and use Walking bomb and lightning spells.  Infect an enemy...hit with Lightning bolt or other spell, boom, most things dead, move on....

Yeah, I am weird, cause I never really liked the fire spells after low levels....

  • That's unfortunate to hear. Immolation was my go to early game, but later on I guess it was just a low cost secondary, same with fire mine.

I really can't believe that there wasn't a fix for this... You'd think Bioware would've patched a bug that crashes the entire game, and by not doing so they've basically said that they don't care about two of the best spells in the fire tree.

  • I stumbled onto this same problem. Was your character a Rift Mage? It seems to be a conflict of some sort. I noticed it begin immediately after learning Pull of the Abyss. I used one of those retcon amulets, relearned Immolate... no problem. Relearned all the spells in Rift Magic I knew before: Immolate still worked fine. Added more Inferno spells up to Fire Mine and Immolate still worked, but Fire Mine would sometimes crash. Especially if Pull of the Abyss wasn't set to immediately pull to center. If it pulled slowly, immediate crash every time with both Inferno moves. Seems like something they should easily be able to patch with minimal troubleshooting... but nobody in the industry seems terribly concerned with customer satisfaction after the sale anymore.
