Firstly, thanks a ton for trying to help me. It's bananas that anyone is willing to assist and troubleshoot a PS3's ability to connect to an online resource in 2023. So...thanks! 🙂
I've tried both wireless and wired connections, though I'm currently using a wired one. I'm not too concerned with overall connectivity as I'm able to connect to PSN succesfully and download some old games I had previously purchased from the PlayStation Store on PS3.
From the looks of that status page, PS3 and PS4 use different customer-facing infrastructure (attached). Are you in a position to also test from PS3?

Community Manager@mmcgallicher I have one but its been so long i haven't updated it. That may very well be a PS issue, not a game issue. Connecting to PSN doesn't always mean all services are up though. I can try and see what happens though. On my end though it says all systems are a go. So I can do mu best to test it out.
