Dragon Age Inquisition PC - Cut scenes still choppy even after fix

I've been using the following fix in order to remove the 30fps frame rate lock for Dragon Age Inquisition on the PC:

http://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/2mm319/dragon_age_inquisition_30fps_cutscene_framerate/

It's improved things for sure, but I still find cut scenes to look choppy at times even though EVGA Precision X shows my frame rates at  50 fps most of the time. I have a pretty good system.  Here are the specs:

Processor: Intell i7 5820k @4.25GHz

Memory: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2800MHz Kit

Motherboard: Asus X99-Deluxe

Graphics: EVGA Nvidia GTX 980

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue as well.  My in game settings for graphics are maxed out completely (everything on ultra) I'm currently only using 2X MSAA instead of 4X.

  • sadly, I don't think there's much that can be done about it until the game is patched.  My cut scenes are better with the fix you mentioned, but the FPS still drops significantly sometimes.  It's bad.

  • Yeah, I'm just wondering if anyone found a setting that may improve things in the interim.  It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to be honest.  There will be a person standing in front of a wall in a cutscene and my computer will drop down to 28fps, but other times it shows well over 50 or 60fps and still looks choppy.  It's unfortuneate because cutscenes and dialog are such a big component of any Bioware game.

  • Forced 30 FPS on cutscenes is not there just because.

The game is obviously ported from consoles to PC and it has to be there (and it has to cause DX crashes because of that).

3rd party "fix" won't help, wait for the official patch.

  • Well actually it's not really a third party fix as you're just adding an argument to the end of the executable, and it actually does help.  I notice an improvement in the overall quality of the cutscenes personally.  I'm going to hang in there for a patch though.  Thanks for the feedback.
