Dragon Age Inquisition PC- Game not detecting wireless xbox 360 controller.

As the title states this problem is on  the pc and has to do with my wireless 360 controller not being detected. I have a standard 360 controller (literally same one I used in the past with my 360) and a pc wireless gaming receiver that best i can tell is up to date on all relevant drivers. This setup works with a plethora of other games (from Spelunky to Fallout) so i don't think there is any innate problem with the setup. I've tried having the controller on far before starting up DAI (before I've even opened Origin) and it still doesn't seem to even detect that anything is connected. There is no option to switch in the controls panel of DAI, it only has the keyboard and mouse option with the grey lock saying that a gamepad must be connect to switch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@blargcrunch Hey, do you have any gaming keyboards or other USB devices that might be detected as a gamepad. In some cases such devices -usually a keyboard-  is detected "before" the gamepad and prevents it from being seen. Try checking device manager or manually unplugging the devices.

You can also try to manually toggle on the pad from the game config file. Go to My Documents/BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save and open ProfileOptions_profile and look for the GstInput.GamePad value. Change this from 0 to 1, then save and launch the game again.

Please let us know how you get on.

    Thanks.

I have a standard keyboard that I tried unplugging just before starting up the game but it still wouldn't detect the controller. Even when manually changing the input value to 1 the game then just displayed that it couldn't detect a gamepad and would switch to keyboard and mouse. I'm at a loss as to what else I can do to try to get this controller detected.

I have had this same problem trying to go wireless.  Grab your recharge cord and plug your controller in to your computer using a usb slot. I usually start up the program and plug it in AFTER I have the game loaded up to the log in/ start up screen and it seems to work like a charm.

    Hope this helps
