Dragon Age Inquisition won't launch.

I recently bought DAI and I've been looking forward to playing it, except that the game won't run when I launch it! I've tried every solution I can find for this problem, but nothing works. I've upd...

    Thanks for the update. Can you try restarting your machine with a Clean Boot and see if that helps? Perhaps there's an interfering 3rd party program. 

    Terrakat, did you have any mods installed? if so remove these. Otherwise please try running a repair. Right-click the game panel to get this option.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. 

The game was and is already set to use the GPU. I even made sure that it wasn't using the integrated graphics and was instead using the Nvidia GPU.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to anything technical like this. I might just be overlooking a simple step here that could fix my problem, which is really what I'm kinda hoping for.

    The clean boot helped! The game actually ran. There was a problem with the game not going to fullscreen even though fullscreen was selected, but I just put it on windowed fullscreen and that fixed that little issue. 

    So from here, do I just do a process of elimination? Or do you happen to know what programs interfere with the game?

    Thank you by the way! I'm glad it was finally able to work and that the only problem is a 3rd party program that I can just disable for a while.

      🙂 Clean boot helped me too. I have launched msconfig/System configuratiob/Services; checked the box "Hide all Microseft services, and at first Disable all, restarted the computer and the game started, even in a very small area of the monitor cos the Nvidia services where also disabled. Then, now sure that it was about a service, at first I have disabled only the upper half, then game was running, then the lower half, disabled all except the game apps services, and finally I have found the sole culprit in < RAZER GAME SCANNER>, the only one that should be disabled in order that game to run. Seems that it comes with Razer Synapse (for any of their products), and it informs them what games you are playing. At course if you are disabling it you cannot chat any longer on Razer Chat, but hey there are plenty of other chat services.

        @ArtMANro - Are you saying that you removed all Microsoft Services, and rebooted. Then DOI launched successfully?
        It doesn't work removing all Microsoft Services. Have done everything that I can find on the web.

    Hey again. So I did the process of elimination and it turns out that razer synapse was the one that was interfering with DAI. So I just disabled it and everything works well now!

        Hi there, I'm having the same problem where DA:I will not launch even after going through all of the troubleshooting steps. I've even attempted a clean boot and the problem has persisted.
        The error message reads as: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close application"

        My PC should be more than able to handle DA:I on high graphics.

        Any other suggestions? I'd really like to actually play the game!

      Thank you, for that i just spent way to long messing with my computer thinking it was my anti virus when it was this all along.

    I have the same problem. I start Dragon age inquisition, it gives me a black screen for 1 second and then just sends me back to desktop. I tried the Clean Boot, deactivating firewalls, reparing, reinstalling.... i just want to play the game i payed for. I'm sick of spending hours reading trough pages on a forum..

      90+% of the time if DA:I starts up, goes black screen and then closes, it is Anti-Virus.  If you think you put in the right exceptions/exclusions and it still happens, sometimes it requires both exceptions and disabling OR you didn't put in all or what was required.  By not putting in what or all is required, I mean, either you didn't do Origin, DAI and DAI saves folder, OR you didn't do the exception to running the program but instead excluded them from scanning for viruses which is totally different.

      I say 90+% but honestly it is closer to 99+%.  I can't remember a case in the last 6 months with this description that hasn't been AV related.

        It worked!? so apparently turning of the antivirus doesn't do the trick, Avast was still doing it's thing despite me desabling it. I made a proper exception for it this time (like my entire origin folder) and it WORKED!!! thank you so much!!
