Dragon Age Inquisition Won't Launch Past Start Menu

I've been able to play for about 10 or 11 hours and now the game won't play at all. It loads up fine, gets to the start menu and when I try to load a save it'll go to the loading screen, sometimes it's instantaneous and sometimes it'll load for 30 seconds but it will inevitably just close suddenly.

I've been troubleshooting and looking at other threads. There's no issue with it conflicting with any AV programs. I've tried repairing the game files. I've disabled Origin overlay in game. I've went into the folders and installed the directx and vc files. I've tried deleting the Profile Options from the save folder. I've tried running the application as administrator. I've tried launching it after a clean boot and same error.

  • Sounds like a corrupted save.  I would start with finding your saves folder and then either rename the saves folder to savesbackup or some such or go through and one at a time removed saves to see if it finally loads.  The rename option is quicker with this, and then you simply copy saves back to the new saves folder created on startup until you find corrupted if it does load...most likely the last save file got borked but that is not always the case....oh, and make sure either way that cloud saves is OFF in Origin options, otherwise it will simply load them all back into the folder solving nothing.

If this doesn't work, then post back and we can go from here.....

Oh, and make sure all DLC have fully 100% downloaded.

Ah, yep. Looks like one (or both) of the two most recent saves was corrupted. Thanks!
