Dragon Age inquisition won't launch

GOT A NEW SOLUTION I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYWHERE.

I know I'm a bit late on this issue, but I just installed DAI and found a (temporary) solution.  The game runs for me in Sandboxie. I've tried at least a dozen different things to get the game to run (as suggested by many other people), but none of them worked for me.  

For those of you that don't know, Sandboxie is an app that will let you run multiple instances of a game or launcher (like steam, origin). That is not its only purpose but that's the one you want to know about. Anyways, its a super simple fix, just download sandboxie ( http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?DownloadSandboxie ) and go through the set up, then right click on the dragon age inquistion icon, there should be an option to "run sandboxed" the game. It worked for me like a champ. 

Some details, I stumbled upon this solution by accident, and had origin already open and running in online mode. When I opened the sandboxed version, I had to run the game and origin in offline mode. However, after opening up the game and getting to the main screen of it, the option to login to dragon age appeared at the bottom left of the screen and allowed me to log in and go online from there. But I first had to go back to the origin app and tell it to go online. Not sure if this is the only sequence in which the game will start, but just figured I'd mention it.

Sadly it didn't work for me and game still didn't launch. Got a Sandboxie error, though:

"SBIE2205 Service not implemented:  ChangeDisplaySettingsExW 40000004"

I am having the exact same issue.  i ran the test to ensure my system was sufficient to run the game and it met/exceeded all requirements (HP/Win 8.1pc).  I have gotten a refund and will monitor these forums to see if a solution that works for everyone is posted, then re-buy, as i would really like to try this game.

tried the Nvidia experience tool.  Set to use Nvidia for this game.  Tried disabling origin in properties...none of these had any effect.  was not able to get into the game once.

My computer is completely up to date, and I disabled Origin in game as well. It''s whenever I open up the window to play the game that it crashes. It'll load up to the point where it shows the logo for both Bioware and EA, and then it will close 

Edit: Now it goes to the start menu and freezes, then closes - an improvement but still not great...

Having this issue as well. 

Running an i7 3.4ghz - 8g Ram - Radeon 6870. Game worked until now, and now shuts down on loading screen. I have tried pretty much everything that was suggested here and nothing worked. 

I've wasted so many hours on trying to make this game work. Not fun at all.

Update: I got the game to work for me, by opening up the game, minimizing it, opening Task Manager, and then clicking on the game. So far it's worked to open the game everytime, but I'm not sure if it would work without going through that process. Game's a little slow and lags at times, but I can still play fairly smoothly with lower graphics. 

I finally got it to run when i found a post suggting to disable secure boot in the bios.  apparently this was preventing the video card from switching over to the Nvidia from the Intel.  as soon as i did that i got a popup when i tried to run the game that the nvidia needed to be updated to version xxx.xx...even though the Nvidia experience tool said my driver was the most current.  i went to nvidia and manually searched for the driver and installed it, now all is good.

I had this problem. I right clicked the game in origin and selected "Repair Game". For some reason it now works. We will see what happens next time though.

This is great for yall that you can get it to launch.

I got the second update today and now Origin will actually OPEN. However, I cannot access DAI at all (can't click play) and I can't launch from desktop or icons. At first I thought it was my computer, but I haven't changed anything about it since that update happened.

Really hoping they fix this stupid thing.
