Dragon age inquistion low speech volume during cutscences!

Well.. so heres whats happening. i just installed my game over last night and started playing it in the evening today. was really excited when i began , had so much expectations of this new series of dragon age as i had followed the past few dragon age versions.

However during the 1st few dialogue cut scenes i realized i couldnt hear what the characters were saying. I had to tune my speakers to the max volume to even barely hear audible speech. im kinda disappointed with what im facing right now and i dont know how to solve this.

i tried to google for answers and apparently its seems to be my video card issue or something. this is ruining my game experience and ive halted my gaming at the momment until ive found a solution to this problem.

Would really appreciate if anyone who took the time to read my question to provide some answers to this predicament of mine in the meantime.

Please assit. thanks!😕mileyvery-happy:

  • You need to go into the control panel for your sound card and manually change the sound to Stereo. The game thinks you're using 5.1 speakers and is playing the voiceover on a nonexistant front center channel, so all you can hear is a faint echo in the right and left surround.

    Alternatively,

This could be a problem with your headphones. TO isolate the problem, try running the game on your speakers and see if you encounter the problem. If not, then I'd suggest you try a different set of headphones or use the headphones on another product.

It could be faulty or damaged wiring (a very common problem with headphones).

If all that fails, then try configuring your Audio options in Dragon Age Inquisition, and again test other games to ensure the problem is isolated to DA: I.

I agree with TRob. Despite actually having a 5.1 setup I tried the suggestions by changing it to stereo. I've also brought the sound effects and music volumes down from 100% so the conversation is louder. The problem is the background conversation seems to be just as loud as the character that is speaking to me. I've ended up turning on subtitles. Between the dialoge and the frequent codex texts this game has much more reading than I prefer.

  • I have a standard definition television and I am also playing Dragon Age Inquisition on my PlayStation 3 system and what I did was on my actual television menu my surround sound was "on" and I switched it to "off" and on the Dragon Age Inquisition game options menu I went to audio> dynamic range mode> and it's defaulted to 'home theater.' I switched it to 'TV' and now the cut scene works like magic. I know that this is years after the fact but hopefully I can still help someone who may be just beginning their journey like I am.

  • Such a joke here we are 5 years later same issue. No patch or anything to fix this. This is why people don’t by EA BioWare games anymore.

  • Yeah, they never fixed it.  PC customers were screwed out of this experience.  Onward to DA4 I guess!

  • Welcome to 2022, still a great game. For me, on PC, I set the Options/Audio/Dynamic Range to Headphones and I get the best sound, I can actually hear dialog now!

I'm using Edifier R1280T bookshelf speakers (great range, fantastic sound, inexpensive) and my motherboard's Realtek audio chip for output.

I have the speakers' built-in EQ set to 50% treble and 50% bass, volume max, and I set Windows volume to 30%.

Game volume settings: Master 100, Sound FX 80, Dialog 100, Music 40, Dynamic Range Mode - Headphones (this sounds better than TV for me).

  • I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Dragon Age: Inquisition , please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
