Dragon Age Keep not accepting my choices as valid

I was trying to put my choices from DA:O and DA2 into a world state in the keep today and it basically is telling me that two of my choices are mutually exclusive when they shouldn't be.

My Origins Warden romanced Morrigan, did the dark ritual and lived, had Alistair exiled as a drunk, and recruited Loghain to the Wardens. I got the epilogue that showed that Morrigan was in fact pregnant at the end of DA:O, and when I played through DA2 I got the cutscene of Alistair drunk in The Hanged Man, so there wasn't any issue in either of those games.

However, when I'm in the Keep and I try to select that Alistair became a drunk, it tells me that it needs to change the option "Morrigan had an old god baby with the Warden" to "Morrigan did not have a baby" in order for the world state to be valid. I tried picking "Alistair was executed" instead because I figured that wouldn't be all that different in terms of Inquisition gameplay, but it wouldn't let me pick that either without changing to "Morrigan did not have a baby".

Does anyone know why this happens / if there is a solution?? It would just really suck to have put so much time into this world state over the first two games and then have to pick one of two fairly impactful choices to change in Inquisition.

  • I just tested it and got the exact same thing. I'm trying to remember if there's any reason why you can't complete the ritual if Alistair is not in the party, but I did select a human male warden in my world state, so I think it definitely should be possible.

Edit: I think I have a possible answer. The Keep is very specific about the order in which you select your choices whenever a choice relies on more than two variables. Did you already set Loghain's status as "alive and well"? Because when I did that, the "dark ritual" and "Alistair is a drunk" tiles became compatible. (Edit: Fixed typo)

@accidentalhentai Hey so Fred is correct on the updated one they posted. The keep is touchy with the answers you chose and how you chose them. I logged in and tested a few things myself.

Keep Steps <------------ This link was made a while ago to help with a lot of issues the keep players had. Take some time to check this out, see if the steps help and if not, lets us know.
