Dragon Age: Origins - " You don't have access" error
Hello,
I am getting the "You don't have access" error when trying to download Dragon Age: Origins on the EA App. Live Chat support informed me that they don't have the tools to resolve this issue and directed me to post here, so a Community Manager can look into it.
I tried multiple solutions, like clearing the cache, installing a free game, then trying again, and many more, but nothing worked.
Picture attached:
- I have attached proof of purchase (Order #1000790118680 from Oct 9, 2014)
- I played this game without issue as recently as December 2025.
- Screenshot of the error .
Could a Community Manager please help me re-verify the entitlement on my account?
Thank you!
musty_gusti Hey, there
Thank you for attaching the images. From the first image with the error message, that is not a game or PC issue; it is an account issue. This could be from a lot of things, from entitlements changing, a refund, a chargeback, an account merger, etc.
However, when it says you literally do not own the game, the easiest way to see if it is the machine or the account is to uninstall every Dragon Age game that has ever been installed on that machine, delete every file related to the game, and then use a registry cleanup to get rid of old registry files.
When it isn't an account-related issue, I have seen it caused by old cache PC files and registry files. If the launcher tries to validate an old or broken reg key, it thinks you simply do not own it, so you have to do the steps above.
If those do not work, then Live Support needs to look at the account, as we cannot here. They need to comb through the logs and see what is happening with the account.thanks
