Dragon Age Origins serial number is too short!

I contacted support and went through the steps as already outlined. The first agent gave me a new code but it turned out to be invalid. I contacted them again and they put the game onto my origin account and told me they could not get me a new serial number to use with my disk.

This is very inconvient for me beause my internet connection is awful and downloading is going to take ages. I still don't understand why they couldn't just give me a working serial number.

Try again.  This is a known problem with a specific (UK) retailer's stock of DAO product. 

The EA Community Managers have been trying to get all the Advisors educated about it. 

(As you experienced, they have had "limited" success.)

Thanks I just now got this fixed. They can just give you a code.

The problem was the code the first advisor gave me was for Dragon age Deluxe edition not ultimate edition. When that code didn't work with my physical copy the next advisor put the Deluxe edition on my Origin account. I had always referred to the ultimate edition in my correspondance I didn't know anything about the deluxe edition.

Anyway, I spent 10 hours downloading the deluxe edition with my terrible internet connection before I found out it was the wrong version. I contacted them again and the next advisor deleted the Deluxe edition and put the ultimate edition on my origin account instead. This depressed me because that file was 10 gig larger than the last.

Thankfully I tried the code for the online ultimate edition in my physical copy and it worked. Hopefully I never have to contact support again.

I've personally gone through three complete downloads of the UE (>24 GB) as part of my own troubleshooting  / OCD about having a "disc-free" Win8 environment.  Not fun, but at least I have an "unlimited usage" internet connection (albeit one that can only achive 2.25 Mbps.)   I would hate to be in the position of my European friends who don't have that option, and have to pay for every byte!

I have purchased Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition this week and to my surprise the activation code only has 4 sets of 4 digits compared to the required 5 sets of 4. I have tried on every help site and forum and live chat to get this issue fixed. Every where I received the same answer: exchange the game. I cannot do that as the game was bought as a pack with others that were given as gifts together with the receipt. I have the original 4 set digit activation code if required but not the 5 one. I'm not sure how to properly explain this, so I'll get straight to the point. I bought a Dragon Age Origins ultimate edition, completely new and sealed, from ebay, the back of the manual has 4 sets of 4 letters/numbers, I also have another page of 4x4 letters/numbers that is supposed to be the DLC product code. I end up entering the one on the back of the manual in the Origin client since the disc download requires 5x4 (or in other words 20 letters/numbers). Apparently it succeeded in activating something, but since nothing was showing up to let me download the game, I came here, found this thread, and went to contact support.

The result being two.... unhelpful people, who tell me that the product code I entered was in fact a DLC code, meaning I have two DLC codes (maybe. I'm not sure whether to believe that considering one of them had trouble typing and the other repeated questions I already answered), and them telling me to contact the retailer even though I can only contact the Ebay seller to do so which is going to be very slow and will drive me mad because I have never been patient enough to wait an hour let alone possibly weeks. After that I tried the other code just in case.... No luck with that bright idea. On top of all this the activation code has stuck my Origin store page in an infinite loading screen.

Is it true that they can give you a base game product code to make it work and that you don't have to do anything with the retailer? Because I'm pretty sure both the ebay guy and the retailer know about as much of how to solve this as I do.

Sorry Vaedaku, this should have been handled differently. This should be resolved by now, please let us know if it isn't.
