dragon age origins ultimate mac edition no video

I just installed dragon age origins on my macbook pro (which meets all requirements) but everytime i click play i get this message "Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000038 at address 0x0088...

just tried that, didn't work, still have the same issue. Hopefully I didn't just waste $30 on this. BTW i have uninstalled and reinstalled twice with no change.

I am having almost the exact same problem, only I don't hear any audio while the screen is black. Installing the game was a huge pain—I had to run the installer something like 12 times before it finally "took".

Did you ever find a solution? Getting customer support from EA is like pulling teeth. I just want to play this dumb game.
