Dragon Age: Origins update stuck at 100%

I got a notice that there was an update for Dragon Age: Origins, but when I try to download it the downloader screen goes right to 100%... and stays there. it does not complete, does not give an error, and does not stop. I've tried letting it go for up to 3 hours and nothing happens. while I can still play the game without the update, it is rather annoying, especially since I have been having other issues with the games that I was hoping this update might fix.
