this is a little bit of a rant/vent:
after reading through other topics related to this issue and some of the past replies, stating what the EA supports have told us to do...
this is very irresponsible.
they clearly know the issue of what's been going down, unless they have entirely detached themselves from internet/etc. for the past seven to eight months.
what have they been saying?
that is it likely on our end.
we have done as they asked: deleted caches of data/reroute our connection to the internet/and many other methods.
But what is the end result?
"Dragon Age Servers are temporarily unavailable."
so, no, this isn't just on our end if we have done as you asked for all these months.
it's also on yours.
i have personally restrained myself from coming off because i don't like causing issues or starting arguments with others. but there have been many others trying to keep quiet and they are likely on the verge of blowing up, just as i am right now. EA, this will likely blow up in your face if it hasn't already. It's a great notion to further the storyline with da4 and create new products to catch the attention of new consumers, but it is also insulting to those that have been here for the long run. those that were here in the beginning. i might be overstepping my boundaries, to which i apologize, because i am not one of those consumers who has been here since this game was released, but this game was the first that i ever played when i bought it. (well, technically it was the second, but it was mainly because i couldn't find the first at the time)
think of it this way:
(i am not sure of all the details and it might bite me in the * later. sorry.)
you have a project that will be released soon, "Anthem," right? It's likely to catch the attention of new consumers, right?
well, think of all the revenue that would be lost if suddenly none of the buyers who had purchased this "prized" product could play it again because of its servers disconnecting? it's great that the company has many ideas that they wish to create as a future product, but if you also don't pay mind to any of the classics that brought you to where you are today, then it will be an uphill battle.
i have come across many topics and articles on other websites, dedicated as to "Why are Dragon Age Origin Servers down?" or something along the lines of "They're down? AGAIN?"
apparently, this has occurred before. not sure of the year, maybe 2016-2017, but i'm assuming the time they were back up took from weeks-less than a month. the main reason as to why i can't find many articles/forums/etc. dedicated to early shut downs of the servers is because my entire search is flooded with the current server shut down. i'm reading the preview dates and 9/10 of them are dated in the year of 2018-2019.
look, @EA_Ataashi
we have stated at the beginning of the other topic that was shut down awhile ago and at the start of this that we wanted a time estimation of when the servers would be fixed and you stated that you would ask the studio. this was back in early-mid november. we are nearing the ninth month of the servers being down with the supports stating that the issue is on our end, that we are not given a time estimation and told that we should follow these guidelines that would "surely" get the servers working once more.
this is trying my patience and many others, but it also raises the question:
What could possibly be taking so long for the servers of a game, released back in 2009 on the 3rd of November, that isn't releasing anymore dlc or mods developed by the company themselves, to be fixed? is this game, the beginning of the series of a new game that is in the making, that unimportant? is it supposed to be shelved and hopefully forgotten?
these actions are just delaying the consequences.
if, by a stroke of luck, that there will somehow be a remaster in the works, then it's going to take a lot to please the participants in this topic and those that are watching it, with all the * that has been pulled. if that is the case, then subtly hint at that than rather ignore this topic that is ongoing.
good day.

I honestly can't believe the servers are STILL down. I planned to do a full play through from origins to Inquisition (on xbone) but if my DAO choices won't port, what's the point?

Maybe Anora is throwing a * fit like a three year old, because the nobles won't let her build a wall on the Orlais border, so she shut down the servers.

The servers have been down since the summer?! I would love to play the game again but it’s continuously frustrating me that I haven’t been able to download any of the DLC on my PS3 for two months. I can’t even imagine what you guys are feeling at this point.
Unbelievable that EA continues to sh*t on their customers, game after game...
