@EA_ShepardWill let you know how it turns out.
Still unauthorized and also old account is still there...thought merger meant it would go away?

@Aria1 I kind of expected it to happen. Go into the documents folder or wherever you have the DLC installed and delete all of it. Then repair the game and redownload it.
With mergers since it's all technically now on a different account, it needs to authorize the right download. The PC could be seeing the license and servers trying to activate something you don't own.
This is was a big thing years back. Way before the EA app. What I do is I use a registry cleaner. You don't have to but if there is one you use, delete everything and clean the registry before you reinstall it over.
Your PC, unless cleaned out, will try to use the registry to validate those files and if you don't own them or the account doesn't any longer, you will get an error.
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Completely removed ea launcher and uninstalled DA2 then did a registry clean using revo uninstaller pro, reinstalled game and as you can guess nothing changed.

@Aria1 , When you launch the game, are you logged in from the settings?
You will see this under "Options" and "Accounts"
Also, do you have more than one drive? I can't remember if I asked it. If so, can you download the game and the app to the other drive?
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Yes I am logged in at the settings says tied to account at my email. I did have it installed on a new drive and then with this latest attempt reinstalled back to C drive.

@Aria1 And now both are on the same drive?
Have you tried to set up a new Windows account to test it on yet? The account itself is fine which indicates an install or folder issue. I had someone look over the account a few times, and even though I cant log in as you and test it, we need to see if it may be a Windows account issue, or if something is not recognizing the install.
Realistically that error happens only for a couple of reasons, and the account is no longer one of them.
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard If by both you mean EA app and the game install then yes, as for installing another windows 10 for testing..would windows 11 update serve the same testing purpose?

Hi @Aria1, Depends on the update itself. Normally no because IF the Windows account you are on is the issue, creating a new admin one does what it should. So, instead of saying, wipe the game, DLC, EA app, registry cleaner, clear temp folders, and wipe everything like it never happened, creating a new admin account would be like reinstalling Windows over and saving you all that time! I know it's bugging you, but it's really bugging me now too! - 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Sorry for delayed response, I work all week and don't really mess with this issue until days off.
Anyway I can see the logic in trying what you suggest, but may be a bit before I feel comfortable enough to try it. Are there any other options I might try before resorting to the dual boot option. - EA_Shepard2 years ago

Hi @Aria1, I get it not everyone is comfortable with it. The other steps that can be suggested that won't delete anything or change settings would be a new Windows account or logging into an entirely different machine and downloading it. That def ensures you rule out the account which should not be an issue. I do know that a reinstall of Windows fixes it but that is due to it basically doing the steps above with a new Windows account. Something on that Windows account does not like the install or old files it is reading. - 2 years ago@EA_Shepard So as a compromise as I want to try windows 11 anyway will be using that for duel boot. Hopefully ea app plays well with windows 11?
Will let you know how it all works out once I do the install etc, talk to you around monday or so. - 2 years ago
Well things did not go as expected, I did the download option of windows 11 with the understanding I could install at my convenience. However windows did a update and on restart decided to update to 11 on default drive, so yeah that happened at this point going to give this as rest for a bit.
@EA_Shepard Wanted to thank you for trying to help you went above and beyond, not sure how I would go about closing this thread guessing that is something you will have to do?
Thanks Again,
Kara

Hi @Aria1, That has happened to me before and I had to do a re-reinstall to the right drive so I completely understand. It can be a hassle to do this over and over.
You are most welcome! If you give it another go, just message on here. I never really close these unless its like a year or so old so you are good!
