[EA App] Dragon Age Origins DLC Not Working

Hi gang!

Apologies if this has been answered already; all of the asks I saw for this were from like 2020 or earlier.

I own Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition through the EA app. When I look on the EA app, it says that all of the DLC is downloaded. When I open the game, it says that I have no DLC. Normally I'd say [removed], but the game also won't let me load my last saves without the DLC. Interestingly, when I install the game, it just says it's downloading DAO; when I installed Inquisition later that same day, it individually installed DAI and each DLC. Is the Ultimate Edition all in one file? Unclear.

Fixes I have attempted, pulled from other answered complaints:
-Repairing files through EA app
-Running program as administrator
-Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
-Repairing files *again* after reinstalling
-Copied the addIns.xml file from the Installer folder to the Settings folder (and deleting the file of the same name native to the Settings folder)
-Downloading the DLC individually from the EA website (they say they can't run if Origins isn't installed, which I'm assuming is happening bc I have the Ultimate Edition??? Unclear)

I'm unsure where else to go. Any tips would be appreciated.

  • @mayflyDecember1 Wanted to follow up on this one and see if you were still running into the issue with the content.

The Ultimate Edition isn't all one file no. It gives you access to the content in the addition but you still have to download it.

  • I own ultimate addition on steam and having exactly the same problem. Yes I've uninstalled this from EA play, and have installed it through steam. I have had access to the dlc before and played through it all, now the bow, mage gear, and plate armor is not in my inventory, I don't have access to any of the special gifts in camp, basically nothing but the game before any dlc. So when I say I don't have access to any of the dlc I mean I have no access to the dlc ...

  • I'm playing on Windows 10, which should not be an issue since my old PC had the same os.

@LADYISCALM Was the game modded at any point?

Was the game previously installed on different drives, and is it now installed on the same drive with Steam on the new PC?

  • Everything is on my D drive, where all my games are. I've updated my driver's also, ran repair, uninstalled and reinstalled

@LADYISCALM Great, so you said you have EA Play Pro and have the Ultimat Edition, Do you own the Ultimate Edition, or do you just have that edition downloaded through EA Play Pro?

I'm sorry if I asked this before. When you installed the game in Steam, did you also install the DLC and the patch from Download and buy DLC for classic EA games on PC?

I'm installing it now to test it.

And I have to ask, just to clarify, Do you have this checked in the settings?

Once you get all of this verified, the save isn't corrupted, and you get no errors like unauthorized DLC that indicate a save issue more than a game issue. We all know what what point DLC should start and if its not there, the save may not be recognizing he installed DLC.

The wrong location of installed files or the save folder was moved around.
