Flickering, flashing fog covering all graphics

I've been having this problem ever since the release of Dragon Age Inquisition, but I've been holding off in hopes that it'll be fixed during the patches afterwards...but it hasn't!

I can log in to the game just fine, but then when I get into the character creation screen, I see nothing expect fog, the background, and flickering multicolored flashes. Even when I enter the game, I can see the UI....just none of the actual graphics (except intermittently). My symptoms are the same as what's seen here:

I am on a Windows 8.1 with Intel HD Graphics 3000 (16GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, http://hastebin.com/cipihepaxo.tex). What's odd is that the game actually DID work for a while when I was still running Windows 7, but the problem then was the FPS was too slow and everything was lagging. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 soon after, but since then I've been confronted with this problem.

I've updated all of my drivers, tried rolling back my drivers, updated DirectX, removed Origin overlay, ran the program in windows mode, ran it as administrator, and ran it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and 8 to no avail. I have not been able to play the game even once without any bugs. Does anyone know of a solution to this?

The separate card-adapter is either too slow to be useful for gaming or so expensive, you will be better off with a replacement machine.  In either case, you have to use a standard desktop type display screen.

Anyone attempting to ignore the game requirements must expect poor results.  The game is designed for real video cards from either of the two actual gaming video card providers, AMD or nVIDIA.  If you want to go the cheap route, you can haunt Intel for assistance.

Yeah, I was thinking it had to do with my graphics card as well, but it's strange that it worked fine before on Windows 7, but it isn't working now on Windows 8.1. I didn't have any graphics issues before (only lagging), so I was thinking that it might have been a wrong configuration or something down the line, or perhaps OS-specific.

Is there any way to upgrade the video card on a laptop? I've also heard things about using an external video card, would that work?

Damn, that sucks. But then again, my computer's already a bit of a senior in tech-years, even though I've been upgrading its parts. Guess I'll just have to wait until I save up to build a proper PC rig. Thanks anyways!

AMD has / had been working on a more standarized something all the way back in its ATI pre-merger days.  It's good to hear something may come of it.
