Frosty Mods not loading

After multiple hours I've finally got my game to launch through frosty (used both frostyfix and datapath fix) but now I've got the issue of mods not appearing in game and I have no clue how to fix this.

I've seen some say to make sure the game has EA as its launch platform (tried that and it didn't work)

I've also seen people say to delete the moddata folder (also didn't work)

So I'm kinda stumped on what to do now, one thing I have noticed is that when it's launching it'll say "waiting for dragonageinquisition.orig" so maybe it's something to do with that? idk

On a side note is 'party banter tweaks' any different to 'more banter' at all or do they both do the same thing? If so then I'll just give up and stick with 'more banter' since that actually seems to sorta work through daimod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thx!

It's virtually impossible to tell why your mods aren't working without hands on your machine, which we can't do here.

I would suggests to search help at the frosty toolsuite discord or from the creators of frosty fix and/or datapath fix.

You shouldn't need both in the first place, and that might be part of the issue.

  • Yea I was talking to someone in the frosty discord earlier and i got a file which means i can launch the game through frosty without needing either fix but mods still aren't loading despite apparently applying so I got no clue what's going on. I'll just stick with daimod since that atleast does work

    Thx

    update: found my issue.

Seems like when dai was launching from frosty, it'd launch using the normal files rather than the modded files in the moddata folder.

Is it possible for me to get it to use the modded files rather than the normal ones at launch?

I've had success just replacing the normal files with the modded ones but that's gonna be a hassle each time i want to download a new mod so having it launch using the moddata folder would be preferable

    many thanks for any help

EA app is not processing command line arguments in the same way Origin did, that is why you need FrostyFix or DatapathFix in the first place.

So you will not get the mods to load without using one of the above.

FrostyFix is a separate application wile DatapathFix is a Frosty plug in.

I would recomand to use DatapathFix, follow the guide on this page to install DatapathFix. (And only DatapathFix, don't use FrostyFix)

  • Hiya,

Yeah datapathfix alone doesn't seem to work unfortunately

Before I saw your message I was messing around with both datapathfix and frostyfix together and somehow two out of six of my mods are working (Map Loading Screen and Neutral Expression (No frown while idle))

weird part is that these two mods which are working both have a warning stating that they're designed for different game versions so no clue what's going on there

Also think it might be worth stating that I have the game from steam which might be a factor in my mods not loading as that was the cause for my issues with getting frosty to even open the game (had to replace frostymodsupport.dll for it to work)

nevermind another seems to be working too with just frostyfix

I think my issue for mods not loading might've been because i had daimods and ig that clashed

I followed a guide (Dragon Age Inquisition mods not working? - Dragon Age: Inquisition Mod Troubleshooting - The Nexus Forums (nexusmods.com)) which said to delete my dai patch_modmanagermerge folder

then i launched through frosty fix and it seems to be working or atleast the ones i want are working so yay
