I had a similar issue. Kept bluescreening at the same moment during a cutscene right before you get to where you were supposedly found.
The fix that seems to have gotten me past it is changing the sound device I'm using. Basically switched to using my Nvidia card (GTX 660 Ti) as the sound device instead. Specifically I'm using a dvi-d to HDMI cable to my screen (dvi-d from screen and HDMI to screen) and then getting the sound from my screen through a regular headphone/speaker sound cable. A regular HDMI to HDMI setup would work just fine as well.
Was previously using a Creative Sound Blaster sound card with a driver that have had no updates for years. Same for the motherboard (ASUS P7P55D), last bios update was in 2010 or 2011.
Other than that running:
- OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
- Chassis: CM Storm Scout
- CPU:Intel Core i5 750 2,66GHz
- Mobo: Asus P7P55D Pro
- RAM: Corsair Dominator 4x2 GB PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz
- GPU: XFX GTX 660 Ti
- Harddrives: 2TB HDD, 3TB HDD, 256GB SSD and a 128GB SSD
Inquisition installed on the 256GB SSD and Origin on the 3TB HDD.
Prior to this I had to no avail done the following (still am):
- disabled my anti-virus (Avast)
- disabled my second screen
- disabled software that mirrors the startmenu on extra screens and more
- disabled steam
- disabled skype
- disabled battlenet
- ran the game in compatability mode (Windows 7) - this did however fix an earlier problem I had.
- re-installed visual studio run-time
- made sure I have the latest video card driver
