Game unresponsive to Xbox controller input (Multiplayer only)

Hi all,

Me and a friend have had the following issue when we play DAI multiplayer. Both of us have the issue randomly when loading in to a match and given the frequency we're very confused to not find a massive amount of people posting it here. I should note that we usually play just the two of us and will invite or join the other via Origin. One of us is in Europe the other in the US. We are both using Xbox controllers on PC (Windows 7, very different systems). 

The issue arise after we both hit "Ready" and load in. We see the load screen and both enter whichever scenario we're playing. Once we're fully loaded, one of us cannot move and the other can. Both can observe the other standing still or moving, implying that we are not linkdead. There is some choppiness to the other persons movement, however. We have both tried waiting for a very long time but no improvement occurred. What will usually happen is that the person stuck closes the window (must Alt Tab out and kill window, nothing responds inside game except Origin) and reloads the game. 

Previously it happened once or twice every hour, today it happened with every second or third match. My friend reports that she does not hear the intro voice over when it occurs, but I have not taken note of this. 

Any pointers?
